As some of you may know, I love movies and TV based on comics, but I rarely read the actual comics they're based on. In anticipation of Captain America: Civil War, I bought a trade paperback copy of the main Civil War storyline... and I hated it!
For me, the big problem with the comic version was that it portrayed Cap's side (or, as :iconkisekae-ilaria: calls them, the Anti-Reg) as the bad guys, and being Jewish, I'm sure you can understand why that would upset me. However, given that the movie version appears to be primarily about Cap, I'm guessing Kevin Feige and the Russo brothers didn't make that mistake.
Another thing I hated was how, in the comics, this whole thing started because a bunch of dumb kids picked a fight with some supervillains for a goddamn reality TV show! But, thanks to the trailer, I can assume that's another mistake the movie avoids. I also hated the way Maria Hill was portrayed in the comics, and I can't even begin to describe how much I loathe Miriam Sharpe; thank God she's not in the movie.
Does anyone else agree with me? Do you have another reason for disliking the comic? Do you think I'm just overreacting? I'd loved to hear your opinions. But, if it's at all possible, try to respond politely.
